Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other federal agencies, all over the world.
The Mechanical Engineer is a project-based role supporting Planate Management Group's Global Technical Support Center (GTSC) in delivering design plans and providing assistance across all aspects of mechanical engineering work. This position is based in Subic and requires willingness to travel to various project sites.
This is a full-time, project-based position and fully onsite at our Subic Bay office.
Key responsibilities- Design, and prepare detailed design drawings, project specifications, cost estimates, construction schedules, and other requirements needed for the proper implementation of the project.
- Carry out preliminary field investigations and studies to determine the requirements associated with heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing system of a particular project
- Select appropriate materials and equipment for the project with due consideration for safety, efficiency, standardization, and costs
- Coordinate with CAD personnel in preparing design drawings
- Maintain and update technical data and drawings of existing and newly completed or modified equipment and systems
- Coordinate with superiors on the various project requirements for planning and implementation
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Must be a Registered Mechanical Engineer
- Minimum of 5 years in mechanical engineering design (HVAC, BAS, Piping, sprinkler design)
- Experience and familiarity with Federal building design criteria and construction guide specifications is an advantage
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other Microsoft Office Application
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to new technologies
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills
- Must possess a valid driver's license, be able to drive, and be willing to travel to various project sites
- Amenable to work onsite at SMBA/SBFZ, Olongapo City
